It’s been an amazing 3 and a half years since Mutya Online first launched, and I’m very sad to inform you all, I’ve just been told by Paul Stacey, Mutya’s, now, former manager, that she has quit music and left her management team, so it’s official – there probably won’t be any more music to come from the legend that is Mutya Buena.
I’d just like to wish Mutya good luck in what ever she has decided to do.
Also, a massive thanks to all the fans who helped make Mutya Online what it is today. The website will be closed shortly, as there is no point to keep it open. We might come back if Mutya gives us a reason to.
And last, but definitely not least, I will continue to support Mutya, as a fan, if she releases any more collaborations or solo songs in the future, as should everyone else.
The news post about Mutya quitting music a week ago has turned out to be wrong. (Thank goodness!) According to the latest update, Mutya has been writing songs today. There is no confirmation that they’re for a future album, but it’s good to know she’s still going.
Quite the line-up, isn’t it? This Nightshift single was played on 27 November on Kiss 100, and apparently it’s a remix of Pitbull – Calle Ocho. I’m trying my best to track it down so everyone can hear it. In the meantime, you can check out the original, and cross your fingers that Mutya is secretly still recording her upcoming sophomore album, and that it will have more of this.
According to a status update on social networking website Facebook:

Sad news, my fellow Mutya fans. Very sad news.
It is not yet known what Mutya is training for, but I wish her good luck and support her in anything she decides to venture into.
I’m not completely certain if I’ll continue updating Mutya Online, but one thing is for sure – the website won’t be closed.
Maybe some day Mutya will change her mind and give music another chance? We can only hope.
LONDON – British-Filipinos in the United Kingdom organized various fundraising activities in London for the victims of the recent typhoons in the Philippines.
Red Cross Step Forward spearheaded a campaign that included a party dubbed as ‘Halloween Special,’ at Tufnell Park, London.
The group managed to raise £1,205.83 which will be donated to the Philippine National Red Cross.
Philippine Generations, another organization composed of British-Pinoys also organized a charity gig. The Guanabana restaurant in Camden Town hosted a dinner for a cause which likewise showcased the talents of some local British-Pinoy artists.
The guests and fundraising sponsors enjoyed the sumptuous meal of some traditional Caribbean dishes like curry goat, jerk chicken, rice and peas, and for the native Pinoy palates, noodles and flying adobo were served.
“We have VIP section and we charged £20. It’s a bit of personal service but for walk -ins, it was £15 per head. Being blessed with a place like this, why not raise money for the victims in the Philippines,” said Omar Shah, owner of Guanabana restaurant.
“A lot of people in the community wanted to do something for what has happened back home. We got an auction, we got a raffle, we got donation box going around,” said Adrian Williams, chairman of Philippine Generations.
Various acts composed of an eclectic mix of local artists such as The Shaydz, Lirikong Supremo, Tru Colorz, Charisma, Mark Villarosa and former Miss Saigon artists Junix Inocian and Ima Castro performed to the hilt.
Singer and song writer Mutya Buena, who rose to fame as former member of all-English pop/ R&B trio Sugababes, graced the occasion and auctioned a number of her CDs. British-Pinoy musician, model, TV and radio presenter Myleene Klass also sent some donations which were auctioned at the fundraising.
Philippine Generations thanked those who volunteered, helped and supported their recent events. Before the Guanabana gig, it also organized a golf day. For both events, Philippine Generations has raised over £2,400.
Meanwhile, Kunst Gallery and Art Bank, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy and Batangas Association UK, went back to London, this time for a fundraising art exhibit at the Wimbledon Gallery. The exhibit showcased the art works of Rene Robles, Aris Bagtas, Govanni Dela Rosa, Jojo Austria, Robert Fernandez, Ted Maddela, Marcial Pontillas and Eman Santos. The exhibit raised some £700 for the typhoon victims.

Peter Andre and former Sugababe Mutya Buena have announced that they will sing a duet together at Born Free’s Wild & Live charity show.
The pair will perform Andre’s new single ’Unconditional’ at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 14.
The event marks the 25th anniversary of the Born Free Foundation and funds raised from the concert will help protect wild animals and alleviate the suffering of those in captivity, including threatened and endangered species.
The first confirmed cover on Mutya’s upcoming album is “Anybody Seen My Baby” by The Rolling Stones. You can watch a video of Mutya recording it in the studio below. This album can’t come any quicker, eh?

Yesterday a “Give Back” EP was added to iTunes. It includes the original album version, and a remix and dub by Twisted Twins.
Click here if you would like to purchase it.

I can exclusively reveal the title of Mutya’s upcoming covers album and it is “The Sound Of Camden”. She has recorded 5 covers of tracks by Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, The Pixies and possibly U2. Other unsigned artist will perform the rest of the songs. The album is set for release in Spring 2010.
I’ll bring you more details as they come.
The press have been going mad lately with the possibility of a reunion of the original Sugababes; Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan. Despite the fact that Mutya seems keen on the idea, Keisha has posted on her Twitter account that sadly there won’t be a reformation anytime soon, but has thankfully hinted that she would glady team up with our lady on a collaboration in future.
Still, maybe they’ll surprise us and show the current lineup who the real Sugababes are…
It’s been a long time coming, and it’s finally here.
The brand new version of the website brings back one of our best (and most missed) features – the jukebox. Click the button on the top right corner to have a listen to some of Mutya’s tunes while you’re browsing the site.
Mutya Online 3 brings many welcome improvements – the entire website has been rewritten, reducing the size of files for faster loading times. All the sections have been updated as well.
I’ve also re-enabled posting comments on news posts, so everyone can share their thoughts on all the latest gossip. Go ahead and tell us what you think of the new layout.
As with everything new, it’s possible some users may experience bugs with the new website – if you do, don’t hesitate to contact me and describe the bugs you’ve encountered.
That’s all for now. We’ll be bringing you all the latest on Mutya as it happens.
EX-”Sugababes” star, Mutya Buena is coming to Israel to record new songs for a musical project in Israel which deals with “Camden Town” market in London. Behind the project stands businessman Bebo Kobo.
“…The goal is to record an album of covers of rock songs from famous rock acts such as U2 and Iron Maden…. Buena will sing all the songs on the album in a chill-out-lounge style and the CD will be distributed in the market in London…”
Photos from the recording sessions should be available next week.

If you head over to the address of Mutya’s new official website – wwwmutyabuena.com – you will notice that a brand new website should be coming soon, hopefully in the next couple of months. We’ll keep you posted.
P.S. A new, cleaner, fresher version of Mutya Online is currently in the works, so keep your eyes out for that as well.
